It’s been one year since PlayStation released its new PlayStation Plus tiered structure, and to celebrate its hosting the PlayStation Plus Celebration, a 10 day event where players will get some free goodies, a whack of new games will be added to the Extra and Premium game catalogs, and the chance to win a PS5 and PS VR2.
The celebrations begin today, and to kick things off PlayStation has begun rolling out 27 total games being added to the PS Plus Extra and Premium game catalogs, along with releasing free PlayStation Network avatars for players to use, and a PlayStation themed wallpaper for your desktop or mobile device.
It does have to be pointed out however that this wallpaper, both in its desktop and mobile versions includes every PlayStation console generation except the PlayStation Vita, which is pure erasure to what’s one of the best handheld devices ever released on the market.
Historical erasure aside, players will be able to redeem this code: GL8M-E67D-J43Q, to add five PSN avatars to their collection, featuring classic first-party characters like Aloy and Ratchet & Clank, and some more recent third-party characters such as Kena and Louise from Tchia.
Throughout the rest of the 10 days there will also be a Sackboy: A Big Adventure speedrun tournament players can enter, and a free online multiplayer weekend, where anyone without a PS Plus membership can hop into an online multiplayer title for the weekend.
