Capcom News PS5 Resident Evil CODE Veronica remake Resident Evil CODE: Veronica Resident Evil Remakes

Resident Evil Remakes Outside Of Main Numbered Games Haven’t Been Ruled Out By Capcom

Capcom has revealed during a Q&A with shareholders that it is not ruling out remaking Resident Evil games outside of the main numbered entires — which means a Resident Evil CODE: Veronica Remake could happen.

We should point out that Capcom’s response to whether it would be “providing high-end visual remakes of only the main numbered entries in the Resident Evil series” was a typically corporate response, but reading between the lines, it seems it’s not ruling it out.

The publisher said it is “carrying out discussions regarding the future expansion of this series so it can be enjoyed.”

Capcom has been churning out quite a few remakes in the past few years, with Resident Evil 2 (2019), Resident Evil 3 (2020) and Resident Evil 4 (2023). Fans have been clamouring for CODE: Veronica to be remade, as it’s a crucial entry in the series that acts as a full sequel to Resident Evil 2 and reintroduces villain Albert Wesker.

Unfortunately Capcom has said that it currently has no plans for a Resident Evil CODE: Veronica Remake, but given its response above, it could still happen.
