The PlayStation Store has confirmed the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 pre-load date in an updated listing, revealing players who secure a digital copy of the game will be able to preload the game on October 13, 2023 at 9.00AM EST.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on October 20, 2023 exclusively for PS5. New details on the upcoming superhero title will be unveiled during the San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 takes place following the events of the original Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up against band of new villains, including Kraven the Hunter and Venom. Peter will be able to take on the powers of the symbiote suite, which makes him more aggressive and powerful, offering a new side to the superhero.
Players will be able to switch between Parker and Morales during the game, although Insomniac has clarified that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a single-player game and was always planned as such. The New York City setting has been expanded greatly, and is roughly twice as big as the original Marvel’s Spider-Man.
