Diablo IV has already become known as one of the most critically acclaimed games of the year, and now a new press release from Blizzard shows that it is on its way to becoming one of the most financially successful games of the year, as it earns more than $666 million in its first five days.
Days ago, Blizzard called Diablo IV its fastest-selling game ever, and now we’re seeing just how successful its been with this latest announcement.
According to Blizzard, players have already been running through Sanctuary for 276 million hours, with another 276 billion demons slain.
“Diablo IV is a result of our incredible teams working together to craft and support genre-defining games, build legendary worlds, and inspire memories that will last a lifetime.” said Blizzard president Mike Ybarra.
“We’re humbled by the response, proud of the team, and remain committed to listening to our players and ensuring Diablo continues to exceed expectations for years to come.”
There’s also more Diablo IV to come, as Blizzard has already confirmed it is currently working on two expansions.
